creative blocks attack the best of us
and the only
way 'out', is 'through'
Vaccines for Fear is series of conversations between the inner critic and voice of courage, the way I see them appear in creative processes.
Each conversation is an attempt to identify and engage with creative fear instead of trying to avert it.
exploring creative courage
'Vaccines for Fear' started as a 30-day project in May 2020, and ended up becoming a series of 75 artworks by early 2022. It was inspired by how my friends and I exchanged creative learning & the breakthroughs that emerged in my own journalling. My own experiences with creative blocks pushed me to learn more about them from literature & from creatives across the world (thank god for podcasts).
All of that learning forms the conceptual backbone of this project here.
This project has nudged me to reflect more deeply on my own fears which surface as I try to
practice skills as a beginner (at digital collages & writing) and create without self-judgement.
This is a 3-part retrospective the 75 artworks created in this project, as of March 2022.
